My name is Melanie. I invented FOOTEEZ™ to keep my bedcovers up off my feet at night, allowing me to get a better night’s sleep. I’m tall, and I sleep on my back. I also like to sleep with lots of blankets. But the weight of the bedcovers forced my feet into an unnatural position — either with my toes pointed away from me or with both feet turned out. Either way, I’d wake up at night with pain in my feet. Or, I’d kick off the covers in my sleep and wake up later with freezing cold feet!
I lived with this for years, but figured it was just one of life’s minor irritations that I had to live with. Then, I developed plantar fasciitis, or heel pain, from exercising. At that point, the weight of the covers became too much and I began searching for a solution. Nothing I found was satisfactory. I needed a simple way to raise the covers just a bit off my feet at night, allowing my feet to move freely while staying warm under the covers. After searching unsuccessfully I decided to make something myself, and FOOTEEZ™ was born.
FOOTEEZ™ is an adjustable metal pole with a wide base at the bottom. The wide, sturdy base easily slides between the mattress and box springs, holding the vertical pole in place. Simply raise the pole before going to bed, raising the bedcovers with it. In the morning, I now wake refreshed — with happy feet and no pain whatsoever. Lower your FOOTEEZ™ in the morning and it virtually disappears — allowing you to make your bed just as you normally would.
